Weather Radar and Alerts is an application developed for weather enthusiast, but is simple enough for the beginners. The main goal is to provide an application that will allow the user to view, monitor and be alerted to weather events in the USA. Here's 6 features built into the application. Check out the feature list for all features.
WXRA let's you see the national radar, or get more specific details from local radar. Local radars include all of the NEXGEN (WSR-88D) Radars and TDWR Radars for all of USA, including Guam and Puerto Rico. Easily view radar data including Reflectivity, Velocity, and Echo Tops.
Set your home location, and be alerted whenever there is a severe threat in that location. Easily adjust which warning types you want WXRA to alert you to, and the application does the rest to help keep your family safe.
See warnings displayed on the map and view details about each warning. WXRA allows you to adjust which warnings you want to display. Click the information icon in each warning to see the full warning text by the National Weather Service.
Know when you need to start preparing. WXRA will display the current weather watches issued from that National Weather Service. Each watch type can be enabled or disabled so you always have the most important information that you care about.
WXRA displays Storm Attributes from the Radars. These attributes can help you understand what direction the storm is moving, how large the hail is, or if there is a MESO or TVS detected in the storm. Check out our WIKI for more information on Storm Attributes.
WXRA can display local storm reports received by the National Weather Service directly on the map. Storm reports include Tornado, Funnel Clouds, Hail and Wind reports. Clicking the Storm Report icon will provide you with more information about that report.
BETA Testers receive the application free. All we ask is that our BETA Tester help us improve the software by submitting comments, suggestions, and feedback.
